Production
We are aiming to encourage more proactivity and work on building confidence to contribute and have honest discussions.
This can be achieved by sharing our insights outside the department, offering help to others if they have completed their tasks and generally getting to know other departments better, as it can come across that we are an isolated team. It’s essential for us to always think ahead, ask the right questions at the right time and keep everyone in the loop as we go. Inevitably, problems will sometimes arise and we need to be proactive in raising these issues with the rest of the team, and strive to offer alternative solutions based on our expertise. Reactivity is key and we must remain cool under pressure. Our solutions develop from our past learning and we take time to reflect on when we did a good job. Above all, we will be approachable, open and friendly cross-agency.
Make sure we have all the information we need to do a great job (written brief, handover tec document, print spec, deadline).
Make the most of our past learning – good/bad projects, feedback, ways of working.
Be proactive and polite about raising any issues with the brief, based on experience.
Try to come up with alternative ideas/solutions and not just the problems (share knowledge, glossaries, best practice, efficient processes).
Make sure we understand the client’s terminology, branding, templates and any special requirements that impact the brief.
Develop knowledge of what makes a project commercially successful and how you can impact that.
Adopt a positive attitude to your team members and colleagues across all departments.
Make an effort to know colleagues from other departments, including their skillsets and ways of working.
Be helpful to colleagues and freelancers with finding the right documents and templates, and be patient when explaining our processes.
Ensure communication around relevant knowledge, precise information and realistic deadlines is shared with colleagues promptly.
Make time to handover properly to the night team or other colleagues.
Challenge yourself and the team to provide the best possible solution to clients every time.
Follow established processes and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Come up with positive ideas that will improve the project delivery and profitability.
Think ahead, ask about future work and update Andy (and other team members) daily/weekly on workload/projects.
Make suggestions and offer help if jobs come forward or are tight on deadlines or you finish tasks earlier than scheduled.
Make sure that everyone on the team hears positive feedback from clients and is recognised for their specific contribution.
Be aware of group motivation and energy levels.
Work on our confidence throughout the team to ensure everybody feels comfortable sharing, challenging, contributing, having honest discussions.
Be approachable, open and friendly (as individuals and as a department).
